2nd piece for the Grimm Exhibition-Hansel & Gretel

Hiya guys,

been very busy and still am, so just wanna show you all my 2nd Hansel & Gretel piece for the Grimm's exhibition. I chose to illustrate the part of the story where Hansel is leaving bread crumbs behind so they could find their way home-but to no avail, since the birds are gonna eat up the crumbs trail :)
I was debating whether to illustrate this part of the story or the one where Gretel throws the evil witch into the burning furnace...but I decided upon this one, since to me the bread crumbs were always the highlight of the entire story :)
Anyways, hope you'll like it :)

Cheers,
Ant

Sneak peak-My version of Gretel by Grimm :)

Hello, hello! :)
I have decided to share with you all what I have been working on lately. Meet my version of Gretel by the Grimm brothers! She's brave & clever...and even though she was scared of the witch who's was about to eat her little brother Hansel she had to be brave to overcome her fear and throw that evil old lady into the fire oven! Hansel & Gretel was one of my favourite tales by the Grimms therefore I have decided to do illustration/s of this fairytale for the upcoming exhibition tributing 200yr of the Grimm brothers. The exhibition will be travelling from Šibenik (2012) to Interliber (2012) to Frankfurt (2012) and finally to Bologna (2013). You can participate as well even tho you're a foreign illustrator and see their submission guidelines HERE.
I'm working on the whole piece at the moment so when I'm done with it I will show it to you guys.

Wishing you all a great weekend in the meantime!

xoxo

Poster for 10.Hand Made Fest in Pula, Cro

Hiya guys!

I have been neglecting my blog for far too long...but that only means I'm busy, busy :)
Well finished one thing and straight on to the other...but I'm happy when I'm having loads of work and having great fun along. So there is a competition going on here on designing a poster and later all that follows (banners, flyers...etc) for our biggest Hand Made Festival which is growing bigger and bigger every year and is now nationally well reckognized as one of the most imaginative & creative one. I have decided to participate this year and the call was for all types of artists to participate and create something unique for this year. Well this is my entry! It's an octopus who herself is handmade but she's also a great help while she's being made-multifunctional :))
In my opinion creations should fulfill not the decorative part alone but the functional one as well...and there are so many creative ideas and creations out there I thought I should make a virtual one too :)) What better that an octopus who is multitasking with her super 8 tentacles! Lol

I have to run with my other errands but I really hope you enjoy my poster ilustration :)

Cheers!

BBC-Travel :)

Today was by far one of those days that are very uplifting and motivating. From an early day I got some really excitingly cool news about my TDAT Map being featured on BBC-Travel blog! To say the least I was soo happy to see it there, not only 'cos of my illustration but my hometown is being promoted as well-cool :) Specifically I loved where it said-starting point Labin :) To be honest when Salli & Nate of TDAT & TDAC shared the news about their co. with BBC-Travel it automatically flew over my head cos I never even had the slightest thought It'll be my map they'll decide to feature (amongst others as well of course), so I forgot all about it and today-wooohoooo! Lol! Oh, I just wanna enjoy moments like these along my illustrating carrear. A completely surprising moments of sheer joy and somewhat a reward for hours 'n hours spent working on my illustrations and pouring my soul and heart into all of my creations, hoping they will be noticed and bring joy and warmth to all who discover it :) Thank you to all who always have words of encouragement and welcome the silly me and my art! :)) To amazing Nate & Salli for having great support and love towards all us artists and to my hometown LC Portal for the shout out and a lovely encouraging article about me & my TDAT Map of Labin/Rabac!
